MSD's Contractors and Suppliers

 

MSD provides a valuable service to the community and the quality of this service depends on the quality and experience of the companies from whom we buy our materials and services.  Our suppliers of goods and service are essential members of our team.   MSD depends on our suppliers to provide expert knowledge, to assist us in solving problems, as well as providing high quality material to help us maintain a high level of customer service, at a fair and reasonable price, those we service. 

The District expends approximately $20 million annually in our day-to-day purchasing.  The three major areas of the day-to-day purchasing are:

• Materials
  Materials include, chemical, fuel, lubricants, general supplies as well as specialized supplies, trucks, operating equipment, and repair parts.
   

• Services
  Service includes custodial services, courier service, printing, lawn maintenance, inlet cleaning, and for repair of equipment.
   

• Minor Construction and Repairs
  This phase of construction includes point repairs of sewers, roof replacements, asphalt and concrete repairs, and the renovations of buildings.

In addition to the items described above, the Engineering Department contracts for the design and construction of major capital improvement projects.
